Fire From The Gods Release New Single “SOS”

Today, Fire From The Gods released their new song “SOS” via Better Noise Music. The Austin-based rock bandalso unveiled an official lyric video for the song, which tackles the political climate, calling on fans to “stand up and be free.” Today’s new music coincides with the band’s European Festival Tour dates across Germany, France, UK and other countries at Rock am Ring, Download Festival, and Hellfest to name a few. In other exciting news, the band will also be joining Five Finger Death PunchMegadeth, and The HU on tour this summer, trekking across North America. Last year the band released American Sun (Reimagined), which offered stripped-down, acoustic versions of fan-favorite tracks from their critically acclaimed American Sun album. A full list of upcoming tour dates is below. The song is available to stream and download across platforms HERE. Watch the lyric video HERE. For tickets and additional information visit https://www.firefromthegods.com/

Discussing the track’s meaning, vocalist AJ Channer said, “With life comes challenges and some of those challenges can seem insurmountable. When we reach said point it can feel like we’re drowning. Unfortunately, there may not be someone there to save us. We have to save ourselves. This song speaks that truth, but it is one part of a larger story of self realization and discovery.”

Fire From The Gods will be reconnecting with European fans this month, with the band set to take the stage today in Nuremberg, Germany at Rock am Ring. Fans can also catch the band in  Austria on June 9 at Nova Rock, Belgium on June 19 at Graspop, and Oslo on June 23 at Tons of Rock Festival, among other dates. They will also be heading out on tour with Five Finger Death Punch, Megadeth, and The HU later this summer. Kicking off in Portland, Oregon on August 19, the tour will span over 30 dates, ending in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 15. See below for a full list of dates. Purchase tickets HERE

The band’s last album American Sun received positive reviews after its release in 2019 and soon after dropped American Sun (Reimagined). The LP served as a reflective statement from the band who typically calls for unity in their music, after they were inspired to take a new approach to their art by current events.

AMON AMARTH Announce ‘The Great Heathen Army’

Undisputed kings of Viking heavy metal, Amon Amarth, have announced their twelfth studio album, ‘The Great Heathen Army’ today. The 9-track aural assault will be released on Friday, August 5th, 2022 via Metal Blade Records. Pre-orders available now HERE with the first 1000 orders at the band’s European Victorious Merch store receiving a free signed poster.

Today’s announcement is highlighted by the release of brand new track and accompanying music video, “Get In The Ring” which was written for AEW pro-wrestling star Erick Redbeard, who also stars in the music video . Stream the track HERE and watch the video HERE or by clicking on the image below.

Speaking on the announcement of their new album, AMON AMARTH vocalist, Johan Hegg shares

“Overall ‘The Great Heathen Army’ is one of the heavier albums we’ve made. There are some dark and heavy songs that are really powerful and in-your-face, but we obviously have some trademark melodic Amon Amarth songs on there as well, and a few surprises too. It’s a really well-balanced album. It sounds great. Andy Sneap is awesome. It was great to be able to work with him again.”

Gutiarist, Olavi Mikkonen adds,

“We’ve been away making new music and we’re back with new darker, more death-metal sounding album. If “Berserker” was our “heavy metal” album, then The Great Heathen Army is our “death metal” album. But with that said, it’s still very much contemporary Amon Amarth, but perhaps style-wise we have gone back to our roots a little bit.”

On the release of new single “Get In The Ring“, Mikkonen continues,

“I really like “Get In The Ring” which was written for our friend Erick Redbeard the pro wrestler as an “entrance” song for him. The lyrics are obviously written to fit both Viking and wrestling themes, and you can also see Erick as the lead character in the new video for the song. We shot the video in Wroclaw, Poland with our friends Grupa 13 and they helped us create this dark and epic Mad Max meets Viking underground super brutal fight club for the video clip.”

One of the best-loved metal bands in the world, AMON AMARTH are firmly dedicated to aiming high when they hit the studio. Recorded with esteemed studio guru Andy Sneap at the controls, ‘The Great Heathen Army’ represents another bold leap forward for the band, as their trademark sound undergoes yet another skilful, evolutionary overhaul, both lyrically and musically. From the noisily rabble-rousing “Find A Way Or Make One” and the pummelling, pugilistic “Get In The Ring, to the evocative fury of “Saxons & Vikings and the cinematic squall of the title track, ‘The Great Heathen Army encapsulates the essence of this legendary band, while still allowing acres of space for new ideas.

Armed with their 12th and arguably finest album to date, AMON AMARTH are poised to return to full action with a bloody, broadsword-wielding vengeance. The release of ‘The Great Heathen Army will kick-start another relentless global campaign, commencing with a co-headlining tour of Europe alongside Machine Head and fellow countrymen The Halo Effect. Still ruthlessly devoted to the ways of the warrior, AMON AMARTH have Odin’s wind in their sails like never before. Shinedown Releases Soaring Anthem “Daylight”

Multi-platinum band Shinedown have released their soaring and poignant anthem “Daylight.” Offering an assurance that you are never alone, the single’s meaningful portrait of a vital human connection reflects the importance of our relationships and the people in our lives whose support and empathy help get us through to the next day.

PRESS HERE to listen to “Daylight” from Shinedown’s forthcoming album Planet Zero out July 1st on Atlantic Records. Check out the first look and interview with front man Brent Smith via PEOPLE

“This is about the human condition. We’ve got to live, and we’ve got to live with one another. And that should be something that is celebrated and not tolerated. That’s what ‘Daylight’ really represents. It’s our humanity. It’s an understanding that we’re all on this planet together, and we’ve got to figure out ways to take care of one another. A lot of times, it may just be asking someone ‘are you okay?’ because you could potentially save someone’s life just by asking. We can’t lose our empathy and courage towards each other, or our willingness to pick someone up if you see them on their knees, because there’s gonna be a moment in time when you need someone to pick you up,” says Brent.

“Daylight” is the latest addition to a catalog that has earned Shinedown recognition for their timely and relevant messages behind their chart-topping hits that resonate with not only their global audience and the rock community, but the greater public and our culture at large. With more than 6.5 billion global streams, the record for the most mainstream rock #1 hits ever, platinum or gold certification for all their albums, and major media praise, Shinedown has cemented their status as one of the most vital and forward-thinking powerhouses in music.

Planet Zero, which already spawned the band’s record-breaking 18th #1 hit with “Planet Zero,” is available for pre-order HERE.

Planet Zero’s previously released lead single “Planet Zero” and album track “The Saints of Violence and Innuendo” introduced an album that is an incisive yet optimistic look at the fractures and frays of a society that has undergone many challenges in the last few years, seeing Shinedown take on the forces that are keeping us divided at a time when we need to be coming together. The high-concept, viscerally charged album, produced by Shinedown’s Eric Bass, takes a hard look at the divisiveness among those of differing ideologiescancel culture ran rampant, the toxicity of social mediathe need for honesty in our public discourse, and the corrosive effects of these things on mental health and humanity. A dystopian saga that warns of dangerous dehumanizing consequences, Planet Zero is a reminder that if we shut each other down, we risk losing empathy, respect for one another, and our ability to communicate and unify in a way that leads to actual progress and understanding. The album also shares hope, perseverance, triumph, and reminders that we all need one another, like on “Daylight.” After all, it is the band’s impassioned striving for unity that has long been at the heart of their creative output.

The Planet Zero World Tour (produced by Live Nation) begins in Bonner Springs, KS on September 3rd with special guests Jelly Roll and John Harvie, kicking off a U.S. run of fall shows that will see the record-breaking, chart-topping band bring their new music, #1 hits, fan favorites and biggest stage show yet to cities from coast to coast. Full routing below which also includes festival performances at Louder Than Life on September 23 in Louisville, KY and Aftershock on October 9 in Sacramento, CA. Beginning June 3Shinedown will embark on a UK/Europe run of festival performances and select shows with Iron Maiden followed by Canadian dates with special guests Pop Evil and Ayron Jones in July and August. For tickets and all show details, please visit www.shinedown.com.

Nothing More Turns It Up in Montclair, NJ | Photos

2022 has been an electrifying year for the music industry, with bands returning to the road and unleashing some much needed energy on the stage. Nothing More is just such a band. Honestly, if you know anything about the band’s explosive live performances, you’d agree that it’s hard to imagine NoMo staying still for very long – much less two whole years. Their return to New Jersey was justifiably celebrated.

Despite being on a country wide co-headlining tour with Asking Alexandria and supporting acts Atreyu and Eva Under Fire, Nothing More had the headliner spot all to itself this past Friday night in Montclair, NJ. Asking Alexandria’s frontman Danny Worsnop regretfully developed laryngitis and had to cancel their performance. The night was not cut off too early, however, as both Eva Under Fire and Atreyu had the chance to lengthen their sets and add a song or two to their setlist. Check out below for photos of both outstanding sets.

Touring ahead of their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Nothing More rightfully kicked it right into high gear with newly released “Turn It Up Like (Stand in the Fire),” a dizzying high-octane track that set the tone for the remainder of the night. Right from the start, the crowd was ecstatic and frantic, riled by a wall of sound that hit head-on with no sign of letting up. Following up with “Let ’em Burn” and the explosive “Christ Copyright,” Nothing More delivered a pretty well balanced set list that reflected their blazing energy, while catering to older fans and new. Crowd favorites like “Jenny” and “Go To War” brought out the palpable thrill of being there in the moment once again after two years, while heartfelt ballads “I’ll Be Ok” and “Fadein/Fadeout” offered a balancing moment of calm in the midst of the storm.

From my first ever introduction to the band at an NYC venue all the way back in 2015, to the numerous performances in between, all the way up to here – NoMo has never once disappointed. With their smoldering intensity, sweeping chords, unpredictable drums and emotive lyrics, Nothing More is a fascinating band that doesn’t care about checking off genre boxes, instead focusing on cranking out some truly awesome music.

The tour has a couple more weeks to go before wrapping up in Houston, TX on June 19th. Be sure to catch Nothing More live, and stay tuned for info on the upcoming fourth studio album!

Ovtlier Unleash New Single “Blame The Dead”

Following their last ballad-esque release “All I Need”, Ovtlier is back with “Blame The Dead”– bringing a previously unheard aggression and heaviness to the table. While Ovtlier has always maintained a powerful musical presence, be it through songwriting and lyricism or instrumentation, “Blame The Dead” encourages unification amid unprecedented polarization; the track incorporates the best Ovtlier has to offer from a musical standpoint while extending a meaningful, lyrical plea to listeners.

Founder and vocalist of Ovtlier, Joey Arena, weighs in on his choice to share such a compelling message through his robust lyrics: “We as humans are tribal to a fault. Whether it’s a desire to never feel alone or to be a part of something, we connect and identify ourselves with what accepts us and our ideas- often without entertaining opposites nor an open mind. Politics have become such an identity for most that their thinking is no longer their own. The mainstream media has been proven time and time again as an unreliable and non-transparent source and yet, so many still choose to buy into it. It’s become cult-like and any opposing views, even with the best intentions, are immediately shunned due to narratives. So many will not accept others, mostly because they can’t accept themselves. Live and let live on all fronts! Disconnect yourself from the machine and hold political figures and the media accountable for their lies and deceit; educate one another with undeniable truths, with patience and love”.

Arena closes his “Blame The Dead” mission statement with a simple but imperative call to action: “While we’re existing in times brimming with division, “Blame The Dead” is a plea for awakening and unity.”

“Blame The Dead” is now available on all streaming platforms with an accompanying music video to follow.

STREAM “BLAME THE DEAD” NOW!

Honing in on a modern sound while consistently setting themselves apart from the mainstream, Ovtlier (pronounced “Outlier”) has prided themselves in creating exemplary rock and metal music backed by a rapidly growing fan-base. Led by enigmatic frontman Joey Arena, Ovtlier has earned more than 3 million views of fan-curated content on YouTube and over 3 million streams on Spotify, in addition to capturing the hearts of over 60K followers online. All of this combined with the band’s ability to sell out shows and engage their audience, Ovtlier has achieved features in major media outlets such as Revolver, Loudwire, Alternative Press, Decibel and ABC News. Continually hitting the Billboard charts, Ovtlier has been able to spread their sound nationwide through constant spins on FM radio and months of regular rotation on SiriusXM Octane- launching them into the forefront of their genre.

Ovtlier capitalizes on their songwriting formula to develop a hybrid-like sound, drawing influences from a myriad of rock and metal sub-genre’s to help attract a wide variety of listeners. The band unveils their freedom to create musically through their latest releases; the fiery, high speed “Bulletproof” resides on one end of the Ovtlier spectrum, whereas “All I Need” takes the audience in the opposite, more moderately paced and ballad-esque direction. Regardless, what remains apparent through the band’s entire discography is Arena’s meaningful lyrics, musical prowess and his drive to bring Ovtlier straight to the top.

Blink-182 is an American rock band formed in Poway, California, in 1992. Their current lineup consists of guitarist/vocalist Matt Skiba, bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus, and drummer Travis Barker. Though their sound has diversified throughout their career, their musical style blends catchy pop melodies with fast-paced punk rock. Their lyrics center on relationships, adolescent frustration, and maturity—or lack thereof. The group emerged from a suburban, Southern California skate-punk scene and gained notoriety for high-energy live shows and irreverent humor.

ONI Release “Heart To Stone” Single & Video

Progressive metalcore project ONI, have today unleashed a brand new track, ‘Heart To Stone’, taken from their forthcoming studio album, ‘Loathing Light.’ The collection is set to land on June 17th, via Ironshore Records. ‘Heart To Stone’ is accompanied by a vampiric official video which you can watch below.

ONI‘s creative force, Jake Oni tells us,

“Heart To Stone shows a different side of me and is a song that really set me in a new direction for what ONI could be. I love being able to straddle the line of heavy and clean vocals. This is one I can’t wait to sing live.”

Last month, ONI revealed another album track, Secrets’, featuring guest vocals from punk icon Iggy Pop and Lamb of God frontman, Randy Blythe. The track picked up numerous spins at rock radio across the globe, including the prestigious BBC Radio 1 Rock Show with Daniel P. Carter. ‘Secrets’, plus the previously released The Lie’ and War Ender featuring NYC trap metal outfit, City Morgue all feature on the band’s forthcoming second album, which you can pre-order/pre-save here.

With ‘Loathing Light’ONI have delivered a body of work that boasts an even bigger sound than their debut. The collection arrives with conviction, passion and depth, swaying wildly back and forth between vast, uplifting anthems and dark, raw confessions. It will go down as a mission statement for the young band, created by singer/lyricist Jake Oni, together with his closest allies, producer Josh Wilbur (Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Gojira) and Lamb Of God guitarist, Mark Morton.

The result is 10 tracks spanning an emotional gamut, from all-out brutality to introspective desperation. Songs like ‘Against My Sins’ and ‘Heart To Stone’ wouldn’t sound totally out of place in a playlist alongside Of Mice & Men or Linkin Park. Yet the bludgeoning technicality – which earned ONI fans while touring with technical heavyweights Gojira – remains, making ‘Loathing Light’ a diverse and definitive album.

Jake and Mark had previously collaborated on Morton’s debut solo album, ‘Anesthetic’, with Jake executive producing and co-writing the collection’s #6 Active Rock radio hit, Cross Off’ with Morton, Wilbur and the late Chester Bennington.

Jake continues, “Music is such a gift. If you can make music, and people respond to it? I’ve learned not to take that for granted. Count your blessings because the opportunity to make music is such a great one. We should always be grateful. Because it’s the coolest job anyone could do.”

In modern times, the demonic ONI figure of Japanese Folklore transformed into a personification of protection, often adorning rooftops or leading festive parades to ward off evil. In this same spirit, the crushing aggressive music of ONI, the band, acts as an empowering weapon. ONI casts out the cruel demons of self-hatred, addiction, and whatever destructive obstacles one might face.

The band Metal Injection described as “key figures in paving the way for a new wave of progressive metalcore,” is led by frontman Jake Oni, who summons cathartic anthems from personal pain. In 2014, Jake first conceived of ONI as “the band I never got to see,” recruiting different players with technical skills to make music that shook the foundations of the scene. Comparisons to genre heavyweights like Meshuggah, Between The Buried And Me, and Protest The Hero came swiftly.

ONI released Ironshore on Metal Blade Records in 2016, heralded by No Clean Singing as “maybe the most impressive debut I’ve heard this year.” Songs like ‘The Only Cure,’ ‘Barn Burner,’ and ‘Eternal Recurrence’ whipped audiences into a frenzy as ONI traveled the globe. The band shared club and festival stages with Gojira, Turnstile, Code Orange, and Rob Zombie, among others.

ONI’s 2019 single ‘Alone’ racked up over 1.3M spins on Spotify alone.
