Dethklok – Dethalbum IV | Album Review

Brendon Small proving once again he is a metal mastermind. This is an 11-track album where nothing feels like filler, it’s all heavy and PERFECTLY in sync on timing and structure. Gene on drumming, amazing rhythm guitars, it’s all structurally sound and keeps up with the Dethklok name. There are comedic points such as opening with the lawnmower noises, but the album NEVER feels like a joke because of how strong the music behind Natan Explosion is. When you get to a song like Bloodbath or the phenomenal closer Mermaider III, you realize Small made sure to send out Metalocalypse on a high note. Dethklok IV is as killer as an Aortic Desectration. So is the new movie Army Of The Doomstar. Check them both out. 8/10.

Dethklok “Aortic Desecration”

Dethklok is a fictional melodic death metal band featured in the Adult Swim animated television series Metalocalypse, known for its satirical or parodic lyrical themes.

Brendon Small (born February 15, 1975) is an American actor, stand-up comedian, animator, writer, director, producer, and musician known for co-creating the animated series Home Movies (1999–2004, with Loren Bouchard) and Metalocalypse (2006–2013, with Tommy Blacha). He also writes the music, and is the main performer for the virtual melodic death metal band Dethklok, which began as the subject of Metalocalypse but has taken on a life of its own, with four albums and an occasional live touring band, headed by Small. Small has also released two albums under his own name, in a similar musical style to Dethklok.

From Google Bard: “Dethklok is a fictional melodic death metal band featured in the Adult Swim animated television series Metalocalypse, known for its satirical or parodic lyrical themes. The band is composed of five members: Nathan Explosion (vocals), Skwisgaar Skwigelf (guitar), Toki Wartooth (guitar), Pickles (bass), and William Murderface (drums).

In the Metalocalypse series, Dethklok is depicted as the world’s most popular and successful death metal band. The members of Dethklok reside in a colossal, fortress-like castle elevated high above ground called Mordhaus, which serves as their residence as well as their recording studio. Beyond their extremely wealthy financial status, they also oversee a massive personal organization of devoted workers known as Klokateers, who act as their personal servants, as well as their roadies, security personnel, and private military squadron.”
