Chvrches Bring Screen Violence To St. Louis

2021 proved to be a big year for Chvrches. Along with being able to return to the road for a world tour, the Scottish band released their fourth studio album Screen Violence. This was the album that personally got me back into Chvrches. The step toward more of an alternative sound while still keeping much of the band’s electronic style rekindled my fascination with the band.

Chvrches – Screen Violence

This was my first time seeing Chvrches live. Hearing the songs from Screen Violence live reaffirmed my decision to come back to the band with full attention and support. Lauren Mayberry’s energy and clear delivery comes through and further showed to me just how talented as a singer she is.

“California”, “How Not To Drown”, “Asking For A Friend”, these songs heard live further proved why Screen Violence is one of my favorite albums of 2021. Here’s hoping that the band continues in this direction for years to come. Listen to Screen Violence as soon as possible. It’s something that I think many music fans, regardless of genre, can get behind.

Opening with Donna Missal, The Pageant in St. Louis was filled to the balcony on a cold Monday which I do feel is a testament to Chvrches’ ongoing success and the continued support from fans. The US tour is still continuing through the rest of December ending in Los Angeles (tour dates below from the band’s Instagram post).
