Better Lovers – God Made Me An Animal | Album Review

If you have missed The Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, etc, Better Lovers will satisfy that hole in your life. This is the perfect blend with fluid transitions is aggressive heavy music. Greg sounds fantastic, the guitar work across the EP is creative and hook filled, at no point is the gas let up. God Made Me An Animal is the best example of many subgenres thrown into a blender and the results are smooth and easy to take in. At just over 15 minutes, the only problem with this EP is that it desperately makes you want more. Better Lovers is an animal and he’s a good boy. 9/10

From Google Bard: “Better Lovers is a heavy metal supergroup formed in 2021 by Greg Puciato (vocals), Jordan Buckley (guitar), Clayton “Goose” Holyoak (drums), Steve Micciche (bass), and Will Putney (guitar). The band members are all well-known in the heavy metal scene, having previously played in bands such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, and Fit For An Autopsy.

Better Lovers’ music is a fusion of hardcore, metal, and electronica, with Puciato’s soaring vocals and Buckley’s blistering guitar work taking center stage. The band’s sound has been praised for its intensity, aggression, and originality.

In an interview with Kerrang!, Buckley said of Better Lovers, “This isn’t a hobby. This isn’t temporary. This is the next evolution for each of us. Greg and Will rejuvenated me and made me even more confident.”

Puciato added, “Better Lovers is a band that’s been brewing in my head for a long time. I’m so excited to finally be able to share it with the world. These guys are some of the most talented musicians I know, and I can’t wait to see what we can create together.”
