Behemoth is a spectacle. A dark, sacrilegious spectacle on a foundation of death metal. This darkness came from Poland to light a fire at the start of Knotfest Roadshow at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in St. Louis, MO.
Where a band like Ghost is more “Spirit of Halloween” style of Satanism, Behemoth is the band that will take Biblical characters and sing vulgarities about them. It’s a stark difference that is not for the faint of heart or easily offended.
Behemoth started out their set heavy and the show only ramped up through “Daimonos” and “Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer” while pyro and blood flew on stage. Nergal’s deep voice echoed through the amphitheater and the heavy bass resonated with the pit attendees. It was dooming, loud, and amazing to watch.
