Green Day is an American rock band formed in 1986 by lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt. For much of the band’s career, they have been a trio with drummer Tré Cool, who replaced John Kiffmeyer in 1990 prior to the recording of the band’s second studio album, Kerplunk (1991).

Dookie is the third studio album by American rock band Green Day, released on February 1, 1994 by Reprise Records. The band’s first collaboration with producer Rob Cavallo, it was recorded in late 1993 at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, California. Written mostly by frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, the album is mostly based around his personal experiences, with themes such as boredom, anxiety, relationships, and sexuality. Musically, Dookie was influenced by several bands, notably, the Sex Pistols and Black Sabbath. The album was promoted with five singles: “Longview“, “Basket Case“, a re-recorded version of “Welcome to Paradise“, “When I Come Around“, and the radio-only “She“. #GreenDay #Dookie #Rocked
