Seven years since the last All That Remains album with more new members to support Phil and it’s definitely more of the same. There is some SOLID guitarwork that hasn’t been heard on an All That Remains album in roughly 10-15 years thanks to Jason Richardson. That being said, Antifragile is definitely more of the outdated metalcore material with lyrics trying to sound smarter than they are, where every song is built around a radio rock chorus. Songs like “Divine” and the title track are trying to push themselves WHILE being extremely safe. The music and writing can’t go too far and it’s nothing you haven’t heard from All That Remains before. On top of that, Phil’s vocal track is once again modded to the point of being robotic. It’s become a staple of All That Remains’ sound and that’s sad. This is arguably the most energetic album from All That Remains in a long time and it still as stock as royalty free metalcore tracks on YouTube’s audio library. It’s Antifragile and anti-entertaining. 5/10
“All That Remains has unleashed their tenth studio album Antifragile, an electrifying metalcore release that marks a significant milestone for the band. Released independently on January 31, 2025, this groundbreaking album is the first to feature lead guitarist Jason Richardson, drummer Anthony Barone, and bassist Matt Deis since their earlier work. Antifragile showcases 10 powerful new tracks, including standout singles like “Divine” and “Forever Cold”, which have already captured the attention of metalcore fans. Produced by the renowned Josh Wilbur, known for his work with Parkway Drive and Megadeth, the album represents a bold new chapter for All That Remains following the passing of founding guitarist Oli Herbert. Fans can expect an intense musical journey with tracks that blend aggressive riffs, dynamic vocals, and the band’s signature metalcore sound, making Antifragile a must-listen for fans of the genre.” (Perplexity)
