Auckland-based, RnB tinged industrial metal vanguard, Vana has today unleashed her latest track “In Your Name“. today’s release is her second since signing to Sumerian Records, whose previous drop “Pray“ has already amassed a staggering over 3.7 million streams on Spotify alone and 611k views and counting on YouTube. When asked about the inspiration behind today’s release, Vana shared:
“Falling in love is painful. Where there is equal love, there will inevitably be equal loss. Sometimes you fall in love even when it hurts you. Sometimes, loving someone you know is bad for you hurts less than grieving the loss of that love. “In Your Name” demonstrates how far some would go in the name of love, no matter how toxic that love may be.”
Having already amassed nearly 1 million Spotify monthly listeners and 85 million streams across platforms, the self-taught, multi-instrumentalist powerhouse is poised to kick off her first US headlining tour beginning next Friday, April 17, in Atlanta, Georgia. Vana (pronounced VAH-NAH) is a New Zealand-based artist whose industrial alt-metal sound merges brutal riffs with haunting electro-pop elements, trap-influenced production, and visceral breakdowns. Raised in Auckland (originally born in Anaheim, California), Vana is entirely self-taught, building her sound and fanbase independently before signing to Sumerian Records in 2025.
Her breakout single “Beg!” amassed over 18.8 million Spotify streams and 1.7 million video views, earning her acclaim from Rolling Stone Australia, Vice New Zealand, NZ Musician, and Rova.
