BABYMETAL have returned with album number five and have brought a lot of friends with them. Some of the big collaborations are the standouts. Tracks over the past year plus still hold strong like “Ratatata” with Electric Callboy and “From Me To U” with Poppy. The combination of so many big names with BABYMETAL is exciting, especially the new collaboration with Spiritbox in “My Queen”. Outside of some of these big tracks, it’s definitely more of the similar BABYMETAL material. The ladies sound strong, the beats are there, the loud moments are fun, it’s what you’d expect. While I do feel it’s not as interesting as the concept album The Other One, some of the biggest songs on Metal Forth raise the overall album impact. 7/10
“Metal Forth is the fifth studio album by Japanese kawaii metal band Babymetal. It is the first Babymetal album to be released by Capitol Records, after the band signed with the label early in 2025. The title of the album means “beyond metal”. It is also the first album recorded with Momoko Okazaki since she joined the band in 2023. Metal Forth features collaborations with numerous artists. The collaborative nature of the album marks a departure from the band’s previous albums, with only three of its tracks lacking a guest artist.” (Wiki)
